University of Alabama College of Continuing Studies: March 2009-January 2010
Building online courses for faculty using Dreamweaver, Blackboard Vista and WebDAV.
June - August, 2007:
Internship, Mission Federal Credit Union
Designed and developed training modules for Mission Federal Credit Union employees and members using Captivate.
July 2000 –present:
School of Teacher Education, San Diego State University
Design, develop and manage departmental websites.
Develop interactive Articulate modules for use on website for application processes.
Using instructional design methodologies and a content delivery and management system, provide consultation and support to faculty for developing blended and online training courses.
Implement technologies to improve admission and retention facets of credential and graduate programs. Coordinate admissions for Single Subject Teacher Preparation program. Implemention of adult learning theories, the ADDIE model, storyboards, needs assessment/audience analysis/gap analysis, and other educational technologies as required in support of instructional design and performance improvement in the workplace.
March-July 2000:
Program Assistant, College Readiness Programs
Assist and support implementation and maintenance of program guidelines for the College Readiness Program. Assist in hiring, training, placing, and supervising student intern employees assigned to designated high schools. Conduct field site supervision of all student workers, develop forms for evaluating program operation and support,
and coordinate data collection and data evaluation. Schedule and make visits to schools to support the coordination and evaluation of tutorial program with designated administrators, teachers, counselors, and others as required.
April 1997-March, 2000:
Evaluator: San Diego State University
Interpreted State, University, Graduate Council and departmental regulations and requirements for postbaccalaureate study and advanced degree programs for faculty, staff and students. Evaluated graduate students who have applied to graduate and posted degrees after all requirements have been met. Counseled graduate students in assisting them to meet their requirements. Supervised and trained new employees on the Graduate Division's in-house database system and other computer applications. This position required an ability to coordinate and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines; while maintaining a high level of concentration in producing a large volume of accurate,
detailed work with frequent interruptions.
1995-1997:
Internship Coordinator: Defense Conversion Center , San Diego State University Foundation.
Solicited internship and employment opportunities with local employers for students being retrained through the Defense Conversion Center . Developed and maintained a database using Filemaker Pro for both students and employers. Provided assistance in preparing reports for the Project Director and assisted in the writing and editing of various reports required to maintain the grant.
1995 (temporary 4 month position):
Administrative Assistant: United States International University
Provided administrative assistance to the Vice President for University Advancement at USIU. Monitored 5 program budgets, supervised several student assistants, processed check requests, purchase orders, travel forms, assisted in budget projections and made travel arrangements for the Vice President.
1987-1994:
Training Project Specialist: Leadership Skills Training Institute, San Diego State University Foundation.
Assisted in coordinating national Public Health conferences in leadership skills training. This included preparing hotel and travel arrangements, providing information for participants, attending conferences, and producing educational materials for conference participants. Assisted in the preparation of reports for the grant's funding agency. Provided all aspects of clerical/administrative support for the Project Director and Coordinator.
